Welcome to Gymdate (the “App”). We take your privacy seriously and are committed to handling your personal information in a transparent and secure way. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your data when you use the App or interact with our services.
By accessing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Our website is for information and support only. All account creation and use of the Services takes place via the Gymdate App.
- Who We Are
Gymdate Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15180325). We are responsible for the processing of your personal data in connection with the Gymdate mobile application and related services. You can contact us regarding privacy matters at info@gymdateapp.com.

For users located in Mexico, Gymdate Ltd is the responsible party under the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP). In accordance with Article 13 of the LFPDPPP, we process your personal data in a lawful, informed, and proportionate manner for the purposes described in this Policy.
For users in other jurisdictions, we process your personal data in accordance with applicable local laws and this Privacy Policy.
- Information We Collect
- Personal Information
- During Registration: We collect information such as your name, email address, date of birth, and gender.
- Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information such as photos, interests, and preferences.
- Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: We gather information about your interactions with the App, including pages visited, features used, and time spent on the App.
- Location Information
With your consent, we may collect precise location data to provide location-based services, such as matching you with nearby users.
- Processing of Sensitive Personal Data
In certain cases, you may choose to share sensitive personal data in your profile, such as your sexual orientation or preferences. This type of information is considered “special category data” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and “sensitive personal data” under Mexico’s Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).
We do not require you to provide this information — it is entirely optional. If you choose to do so, we will only collect and process such data based on your explicit consent.
How we obtain your consent:
- We will ask you to confirm that you agree to the processing of this sensitive personal data by presenting a clear opt-in checkbox in the relevant section of your profile setup or editing flow.
- You may withdraw your consent at any time by removing this information from your profile or contacting us at info@gymdateapp.com
We process this data only to enable features that improve your matching experience and personal relevance within the App. We do not use sensitive personal data for advertising purposes or share it with third parties.
- Purposes of Processing
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Providing and Improving the App
- Account setup and access: To allow you to register, log in, and manage your profile.
- Matching and discovery: To show you compatible users based on your preferences, activity, and profile data.
- App functionality: To enable core features like messaging, location-based discovery (if enabled), and user interactions.
- Personalization: To tailor your experience within the App, including recommendations, in-app content, and feature suggestions.
- Performance improvement: To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and optimize user experience.

- Customer support: To respond to your questions, resolve issues, and provide help when needed.
- Service updates: To send important administrative messages, such as changes to our terms or privacy practices.
- Marketing and Advertising
We may use your personal data to send you occasional promotional messages, surveys, or offers related to Gymdate features — such as premium Boosts or new in-app functionality — but only if you’ve given your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time via your account settings or by contacting us at info@gymdateapp.com.
In addition, we may display native ads inside the App using third-party advertising services, including Google Ads. These ads may be personalized based on your profile, app usage, or device information — but only if you consent to such use when prompted. If you do not give consent, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant to your interests.
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. However, with your consent, we may share certain information (such as your device ID, IP address, or usage patterns) with our advertising partners to enable personalized ad delivery and reporting.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on your explicit opt-in consent for:
- Receiving marketing communications
- Using your data for personalized advertising or profiling
- Storing or accessing cookies and similar technologies (see section on Cookies and Tracking)
For users in Mexico, any use of your data for marketing purposes is considered a secondary purpose under the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP). You have the right to object to such use at any time by contacting us at info@gymdateapp.com.
SMS and email messages used for age verification or account security are not considered marketing communications. If we ever contact you by SMS or email for promotional reasons, we will do so only with your consent and in compliance with applicable spam and consumer protection laws. In Mexico, we also respect the national do-not-call registry (REPEP/PROFECO) where applicable.
- Profiling
We may use automated decision-making and profiling (e.g. for matching or personalized ads) with your consent, or based on our legitimate interest in improving user experience, where permitted.
- Legal, Security, and Compliance
- Legal obligations: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests.
- Fraud prevention: To detect, investigate, and respond to misuse, abuse, or suspicious behavior on the App.
- Enforcement: To protect our rights, enforce our terms, and defend against legal claims.
- Legal Bases for Processing (for users in the EU/UK/Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- Contract: We process your data to provide and operate the App, match you with other users, manage your account, and deliver core functionality that you request.
- Consent: We rely on your consent to collect and use certain data, such as your location, sensitive information (e.g. sexual orientation), and to send you marketing communications. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
- Legitimate Interests: We process certain data to improve the App, prevent fraud, ensure security, and understand usage patterns — provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal Obligation: In some cases, we may process your data to comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.
- Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Gymdate App and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Specifically:
- Active accounts: We retain your profile, preferences, matches, and messages for as long as your account is active.
- Inactive accounts: If you do not log in for 12 consecutive months, we may treat your account as inactive and delete or anonymize your personal data, unless we are required to retain it for legal or operational reasons.
- Account deletion: If you choose to delete your account, we will permanently delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required (e.g. for fraud prevention or tax/regulatory compliance).
We may retain anonymized data (which cannot identify you) for analytics and service improvement.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at info@gymdateapp.com or through the in-app account deletion feature.
- International Data Transfers and Third-Party Processors
To provide the Gymdate App, we may transfer and store your personal data outside of your country of residence, including to countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.
Specifically:
- We use Twilio Inc., a third-party service provider based in the United States, to facilitate SMS and phone number verification.
- We may also process and store your data on servers located in the United Kingdom, where our development team is based.
- Google Analytics – usage analytics
- Google Ads/AdMob – advertising
- MongoDB Atlas – hosting/database
- Stripe – payment processing (once active)
When transferring data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These safeguards may include:
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
- Participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where applicable)
- Other legally approved mechanisms
For users in Mexico, personal data may be transferred to third-party service providers (such as Twilio) solely to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy — for example, to verify your account or deliver SMS communications. These transfers are made under contracts that ensure your data will be handled in accordance with the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).
We do not sell or share your personal data with unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes.
If you have questions about international transfers or our data processing agreements with providers, you can contact us at info@gymdateapp.com.
- Your Rights and How to Exercise Them

- Information Sharing
- With Other Users
Your profile information, including photos and preferences, may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
- Third-Party Service Providers
We may share your information with third-party service providers to facilitate services such as hosting, analytics, and customer support.
- Legal Disclosures
We may disclose your information in response to legal requests or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
- Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include data encryption, access controls, secure storage, and monitoring of our systems to detect vulnerabilities and incidents.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account or data may have been compromised, please contact us immediately at info@gymdateapp.com.
- Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms (such as identity theft or fraud), we will notify you without undue delay, in accordance with applicable law.
We may notify affected users by email, in-app message, or other appropriate channels. We will also notify relevant data protection authorities when legally required to do so.
If the breach does not pose a high risk, we may document the incident internally without notifying users directly, as permitted by law.
- Your Choices
- Account Settings
You can manage your account settings and privacy preferences within the App.
- Location Information
You can control the collection of location information through your device settings.
- Minors and Age Restrictions
The Gymdate App is strictly intended for use by individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect, process, or store personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a user who is a minor (under 18), we will promptly delete such information and terminate the associated account.
For users in the European Union, the minimum digital consent age varies by country (e.g. 14 in Spain, 16 in others). However, since Gymdate does not permit any under-18 users, these provisions are not applicable to our service.
For users in Mexico, the App is not directed at minors under 18, and we do not knowingly process their personal data. If we discover that a minor has registered, we will take appropriate steps to delete their data in accordance with the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).
If you believe that we have collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately at info@gymdateapp.com so we can take action.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Gymdate App and our associated website use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and deliver relevant advertising — including via third-party services such as Google Ads and Analytics.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on your consent for any non-essential tracking (such as personalized ads or analytics). You will be prompted to accept or decline such technologies when you first use the App or visit our site.
For more detailed information, including the types of cookies and how to manage your preferences, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
